Skin Treatments That Work at the Cellular Level

Microneedling and chemical peels — prescribed by a physician, matched to your skin, and tracked with imaging so you can see what's changing and why.

Two Treatments. One Standard of Care.

Most med spas offer microneedling and peels as menu items. We approach them as clinical interventions. Before recommending either, Dr. Erdman reviews your skin using Alma IQ multi-spectral imaging — measuring pigmentation, redness, texture, pores, and sun damage in a single scan. That data drives the recommendation. You don't get a treatment because it's popular. You get it because the imaging shows it's the right one for your skin.

Microneedling

Microneedling uses a device with fine, precisely controlled needles to create thousands of micro-channels in the skin's surface. The body responds by producing new collagen and elastin — the structural proteins responsible for firmness, smoothness, and even tone. The result is gradual but real: skin that looks and behaves younger because it has been prompted to rebuild from within.

We use microneedling to address acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven texture, and early skin laxity. Most patients complete a series of three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Results continue to improve for several months after the final treatment as collagen remodeling progresses.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel applies a carefully selected acid solution to the skin's surface, prompting controlled exfoliation and cellular turnover. Depending on the depth of the peel, this process addresses surface-level dullness, pigmentation, fine lines, acne, and uneven texture. Peels range from light to medium depth — and the right choice depends on your skin type, your concerns, and how much downtime you can work with.

At Ageless Beauty Doctors, peels are not one-size-fits-all. Dr. Erdman selects the formulation based on your skin analysis and your goals. A patient managing melasma needs a different approach than a patient treating active breakouts. That distinction matters, and we make it before any solution touches your skin.

How We Decide Which Treatment Is Right for You

Neither microneedling nor a chemical peel is universally better — they work differently and serve different purposes. Some patients benefit most from one. Others do well alternating between both. A few are better served by a laser treatment instead.

Step 1: Alma IQ Skin Analysis

We begin with multi-spectral imaging that maps your skin across six parameters: pigmentation, redness, texture, pores, UV damage, and vascularity. This gives us a baseline and a benchmark for tracking change over time.

Step 2: Physician Consultation

Dr. Erdman reviews the scan with you, discusses your concerns, and explains what each treatment can and cannot realistically do for your skin. No sales pressure. No package pitch.

Step 3: A Treatment Plan, Not a Menu

You leave with a specific recommendation — including sequence, spacing, and what to expect — rather than a general suggestion to "try microneedling and see how it goes."

What These Treatments Can Realistically Do

  • Reduce the appearance of acne scars and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Improve skin texture, pore size, and surface smoothness
  • Address sun damage, uneven tone, and early pigmentation changes
  • Stimulate collagen production for gradual firming and tightening
  • Brighten dull, congested, or chronically dehydrated skin
  • Complement injectable treatments by improving the skin's surface quality

Physician-Led Care Changes the Result

The difference between a good outcome and a mediocre one often comes down to who is making the clinical decisions. Dr. Erdman is a board-certified DO with training from Cleveland Clinic and more than a decade of internal medicine practice. She performs or directly oversees every treatment at Ageless Beauty Doctors. When you have a question after your appointment, you can text her directly — not a front desk, not a patient coordinator.

We don't sell packages. We don't push memberships. If a treatment isn't the right fit for your skin at this moment, we'll tell you.

Skin Treatment Questions, Answered

  • How many microneedling sessions will I need?

Most patients see meaningful improvement after three to four sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart. The exact number depends on what you're treating — acne scarring typically requires more sessions than general texture improvement. Dr. Erdman will give you a specific recommendation at your consultation based on your skin analysis.
  • Is there downtime after a chemical peel?

It depends on the depth of the peel. Light peels may cause mild redness and flaking for two to three days. Medium-depth peels involve more visible peeling and typically require five to seven days of social downtime. Dr. Erdman will match the peel depth to your schedule and your skin goals before proceeding.
  • Can microneedling and chemical peels be combined?

Yes, and many patients benefit from alternating between the two. They work through different mechanisms — microneedling stimulates collagen from below the surface, while peels address tone and texture from the top down. We'll recommend a sequence that makes sense for your skin rather than layering treatments without a reason.
  • Are these treatments safe for darker skin tones?

With the right formulation and depth selection, yes. Chemical peels and microneedling can be performed safely on deeper skin tones, but the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is real if the wrong approach is used. This is exactly why a physician-reviewed skin analysis matters before any treatment begins.
  • How is Ageless Beauty Doctors different from other med spas offering these treatments?

Most med spas in the area offer microneedling and peels as standard menu items, performed by an esthetician or nurse. At Ageless Beauty Doctors, every treatment plan is developed by Dr. Erdman after a clinical skin analysis. You're not selecting off a menu — you're receiving a physician's recommendation based on objective imaging of your skin.
  • Do you offer financing for skin treatments?

Yes. Cherry financing is available for qualifying patients, making it easier to complete a full treatment series without paying everything upfront. Ask about it at your consultation or when you book.
